A message from Julia Cameron, a local disabled person and member of DAII:
- Are you interested in developing your listening skills?
- Would you like emotional support at this time in your life?
- Are you looking for ways of gaining confidence and helping others do the same?
- Would you like to learn a form of counselling in a safe and accessible environment?
Disabled people are currently facing serious threats to our income, our wellbeing and our independence. Co-counselling can empower us to better handle such difficulties, defend our interests and act against injustice. Co-counselling is a form of counselling in which you take it in turns to be client and counsellor.
To find out more about the approach, please see the Re-Evaluation Counselling website: www.rc.org
In the class: You will learn how to give and receive effective help to escape the limiting effects of emotional hurts on your life in a safe and confidential environment. You will be encouraged to set up co-counselling relationships with other class participants, which you can continue indefinitely.
Whos it for? This class is suitable for you if you want to learn how to counsel others, as well as receive counselling yourself. There are a maximum of 9 places on the course and there will be a short interview process. To help with costs, there will be £10 charge per term.
If you think you might be interested in joining the class or would like to find out more about it, please contact Julia Cameron on:
