Challenging exclusion and discrimination
Disabled people are seven times more likely to be out of work and twice as likely to have no qualifications as non-disabled people.
DAII is committed to providing local disabled people with the information, knowledge and skills they need to have more choice and control over their lives and to challenge the exclusion, discrimination and poverty many disabled people face in their daily lives.
Here are some examples of work we have carried out recently:
- Providing a unique one-to-one personal advisor service offering disabled people information, advice and practical support to access new services and opportunities.
- Providing casework representation for disabled people on access issues.
- Designed and delivered free training for disabled people on communication skills, assertiveness, confidence building and disability equality issues.
